The other day a girl at Starbucks told me “Your phone looks so small compared to mine.”
She had the Iphone 6 Plus.
It was ridiculously HUGE. (In my opinion)
Seriously, it looked like a remote control.
I could only imagine how silly it would look in my pocket.
I’m a simple guy.
I don’t require or ask for much.
Out of all my friends, I’m the most frugal.
The only one in the group with the Iphone 5.
Below is a picture I took at the Everglades National Park.
The bike you see costs $100 at Walmart.
I could’ve spent more on a “better” bike, but this one gets the job done.
If I don’t need it, I don’t buy it.
If I do need it, I don’t spend more than necessary.
End of story.
Being the way that I am, I search for simple answers in life.
After having success with this blog, I’ve come up with simple steps you can follow to succeed as well.
You see, I don’t care how hard it is or how long it takes to achieve something.
I really don’t.
If I want it, I’m going to have it.
Period.
What I do care about is knowing that I’m doing things right.
While failure is a part of success, I want to ensure that I’m failing on the right path.
Make sense?
I like knowing that even though I’m going to have setbacks, eventually, I’ll stumble upon success.
It’s a fair trade-off.
After failing a lot, I’ve realized what it really takes to succeed.
It’s easy.
There’s three simple steps you must follow:
1) Decide exactly what you want
2) Decide what you must sacrifice
3) Don’t quit
That’s it.
It’s really that simple.
It’s the three step process that I and all other successful people follow.
Let’s go over each in detail so you can put them into action and get results.
Decide exactly what you want
Don’t tell me you want to be rich.
I have no idea what that means to you.
Being rich to me means earning enough money on the internet so that I NEVER need a job.
Having 100% freedom.
Living life without an alarm clock.
Is that what it means to you?
Maybe.
Maybe not.
Being rich to you might mean having a mansion, yacht, and private jet.
Not me.
Give me free time and an Iphone 5 and I’m richest man in the world.
But this is why getting specific is so important.
Everyone has their own definition of success.
I can’t tell you what success is.
Only YOU can decide that for yourself.
My job is to show you how to get it.
There’s a lot of power that comes from knowing exactly what you want.
It’s an advantage.
You want to be rich?
Fine.
But what does that mean to you?
Write it down.
Don’t write “I want to be rich”.
Write this instead:
“I earn $________every month by___________”.
Ambiguous goals lead you no where.
So before you read any further, write down exactly what you want.
Get as specific as possible.
Once you’re finished, we’ll go over the importance of sacrifice.
Decide what you need to sacrifice
There is no doubt that you’ll need to sacrifice in some area in order to get what you want.
You can try to cheat the system, but you won’t make any progress in life until you sacrifice.
[bctt tweet=”You can try to cheat the system all you want, but you won’t make progress in life until you sacrifice.” username=””]
Believe me, I’ve tried and failed.
You can’t get rich without putting the time in.
You think I wrote 300 articles and 4 eBooks overnight?
Impossible.
I put in MANY hours.
In order to do that, I gave up other things.
No matter what you want, it’ll require sacrificing time away from something else.
There’s no way around it.
If you have a job, you sacrifice free time in order to earn a living.
I sacrifice whenever I sit down to write an article.
Right now, instead of writing this, I could be at the beach or dog park with my Doberman.
But here’s the important question.
Is your goal worth sacrificing for?
Will it bring you more joy and comfort in the future?
Will it improve your life in any way?
Before you decide anything, ask yourself this simple question:
Will I be better off after achieving this goal?
If you answered “Yes”, there’s nothing left to talk about.
You’ve established that the goal will improve your life.
What other reason would you need?
It’s time to make it a reality.
Start now and don’t quit.
Let’s go over the importance of not quitting.
Don’t quit
You can search for endless ways that’ll guarantee your success.
But the ONLY real and effective way is by committing not to quit.
Persistence will bring you success 100% of the time.
[bctt tweet=”Persistence will bring you success 100% of the time. ” username=””]
It never fails.
It’s the only fail-proof strategy I’ve come across.
You’ll never hear a story of someone who failed by being persistent.
It just isn’t going to happen.
It’s impossible.
And trust me, there will come times where you’ll want to quit.
It was very hard for me to persist with this blog at the beginning.
I felt like no one cared what I had to say.
It was demotivating.
I don’t think I’ve ever felt more disappointment in my entire life.
I knew I had a message to share with others.
I knew I’d be a hero to many people.
There’s a freedom and wisdom that every man deserves.
[bctt tweet=”There’s a freedom and wisdom that every man deserves.” username=””]
Unfortunately, many men don’t have it.
I didn’t have it.
But I searched until I found it.
This wisdom is what kept me going.
I refused to quit knowing I could create content that would help others.
Quitting would be selfish.
An injustice to men all over the world.
So I wrote and wrote.
And when there was no sign of hope, I wrote some more.
I made the commitment to persist until people found me.
Nothing was going to stop me.
No matter how long it took, I’d write until my audience appeared.
Little by little, they did.
Today, the more I write, the more people find me, and the more this happens:
I don’t hold anything back from my readers.
If I try something and it works, I’m sharing it with you.
And this three step process works.
Next, you get specific, sacrifice, and never quit.
Do that and everything you’ve ever wanted will fall right into your hands.
Trust me.
Conclusion
If you can’t get specific about your goal, you’re not serious about it.
If you can’t sacrifice for your goal, you don’t really want it.
And if you quit, you don’t believe in yourself.
So get serious, decide what you want, and develop self-belief.
Life is simple, my friend – I plan to keep it that way.
Do you?
Talk soon,
-Alex
