7 Reasons Why Every Man Should Experience Living Alone
One of the biggest steps forward a man can take in life is living alone.
It’s the moment where you “leave the nest and spread your wings”.
Until you make the move (pun intended), you won’t step foot into adulthood.
The words man and adulthood are synonymous.
One cannot exist without the other.
Let’s not waste any time and go over the reasons why every man should experience living alone.
I’ve said it many times…
Until you live alone, you’re not 100% independent.
This is important.
Independence is the final step in transitioning from boy to man.
While living with someone doesn’t necessarily make you less of a man, you’ll never experience true independence until you live alone.
Once you’ve lived alone a minimum of a year, you can live with someone else if you choose.
The goal isn’t to live alone forever.
It’s to benefit from all the things and experiences you’ll acquire.
As long as you live with someone, you’ll have that feeling of safety.
If anything goes wrong, they’ll be by your side.
This provides peace of mind.
But independence is what separates the men from the boys.
You never know what the future holds.
And it’s this reason why you need to learn how to survive on your own.
Living alone helps you mature.
When there’s rent to be paid and a place to maintain, you can’t afford to be sitting on your ass all day.
Doing nothing but watching TV or playing videos games all day isn’t possible.
You can do those things while living with mommy and daddy (if they don’t kick you out), but you can’t do them living alone.
Being responsible and taking care of your own chores and bills is what maturity is all about.
It’s impossible to care of yourself without some level of maturity.
You won’t survive.
Any man who lives alone and takes care of himself deserves respect.
There seems to be a lack of us these days.
3) Do what you want
You want to date 5 women a week?
You want to get serious with 1 woman?
You want to invite your friends over every day?
You want to have your fridge with filled nothing but steaks and beer?
Want to walk around in your boxers all day?
You’re free to do whatever you want when you live alone.
It’s your private space.
There are none.
4) Time to think
Living alone gives you plenty of time to think.
You go over what’s important and what needs to get done.
This is vital.
Some “men” are so distracted that life just passes them by.
When you live alone, you have plenty of alone time and “thinking” becomes inevitable.
Sure, you can think when you live with someone, but trust me that it isn’t the same.
You’ll see what I mean.
If you can manage living alone, you can do anything.
Living alone boosts your confidence.
Being able to provide for yourself means you can achieve whatever you put your mind to.
Everyone whose lived alone knows the fear you experience initially.
Once you realize that everything is OK, you learn to push through any other fears you encounter.
That’s what confidence is all about.
Believing in yourself.
And nothing will boost your confidence more than living alone.
People will tell you how there’s something different about you.
And they’ll be right.
6) Attractive to women
Some guys want to meet one great woman to spend their lives with.
Others want to date many women and never consider marriage or any other type of commitment.
Whatever you want to do is your business.
After all, it’s your life.
However, one way or another, you’ll want to appear attractive to women.
What’s one of the first questions women ask?
“Who do you live with?”
Because a man’s living situation says a MILLION things about him.
No matter what job you have, living alone automatically says to a women:
- This guy provides for himself.
- This guy is a survivor.
- This guy isn’t scared of being alone.
- This guy doesn’t need help from anyone.
And if you know anything about women, you’ll know that those are qualities they find sexy in men.
The younger you are, the sexier living alone comes across.
The expression on a women’s face when you tell her you live alone will show you what I mean.
Even if you have to live in a small studio like I did, do it!
My opinion is that every man in his 20s should be living alone.
If you can’t afford it, begin doing what it takes to afford it.
Do whatever necessary.
7) Loneliness is good
Many guys fear loneliness.
But there’s nothing to be scared of.
It’s actually a good thing.
Loneliness lets you discover how you truly feel about yourself.
You’re reminded of how much you really have and learn to be grateful for small things.
Moments of loneliness is where men begin to discover who they really are and what they want.
Some of my BEST ideas came to me while lying in my bed watching the ceiling fan spin.
Solitude (loneliness) is a success secret.
Many successful people practice it.
They spend time alone on purpose in order to think and come up with ideas.
It isn’t a surprise they succeed constantly.
Learn to be lonely and you’ll never lack anything.
