The Dale Carnegie Quote That Forced Me To Develop A Strong Work Ethic (And How It Made Me Successful)

November 15, 2016 By Alexander Writer Leave a Comment

Dale Carnegie is the author of what many believe (myself included) is the BEST personal development book ever written, How to Win Friends & Influence People.

If you have not read that book, you have no idea how much you’re missing out on.

I’ve always been a huge fan of his work.

I’ve learned more reading one of his books than in courses I took in college.

With all the great things he’s taught me, there’s one quote by Mr. Carnegie that really got the ball rolling for me.

Here it is:

“Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy.” -Dale Carnegie

If I were you, I’d read that quote a couple of times.

What’s the one thing that people do instead of taking action?

Ask questions.

Why do they ask questions?

Lack of belief.

They seek more and MORE information in attempt to gain confidence and take action.

I myself was guilty of this for a long time.

I lacked the confidence to go after what I wanted.

I simply didn’t believe in myself.

Even though I had acquired a TON of information to apply, I’d still seek MORE information.

Lack of action is a result of lack of belief.

When you don’t believe in yourself, you refuse to act out of fear of failure.

Think about it, if you knew you could achieve something you really wanted, regardless of how long it would take, wouldn’t you persist until you got it?

Of course you would!

But, that’s the problem, there is no proof.

There’s no 100% guaranteed.

If there was, everyone would have what they wanted, right?

Well, only those brave enough to take action, in spite of any doubts or fears, are the ones who get what they want.

After reading that quote from Dale Carnegie, my doubts and fears never prevented me from taking action.

I made sure that I did something every day to move me closer to my goals. (Important)

Whether it was a little or a lot, I did something daily.

Period.

Forget about fears, doubts, or how long things will take.

All you need to do is focus on taking action.

…And do it daily.

If YOU truly belief you can achieve something, the answers will come to you in time.

They always do, trust me.

And how can you fool yourself into believing you CAN achieve whatever you want?

The answer is simple, my friend…

TAKE ACTION EVERY SINGLE DAY!
