Successful People vs. Quitters

October 16, 2014 By Alexander Writer 5 Comments

Let’s be honest…

You can be successful in any area of your life.

There is no reason why someone else can do it and you can’t.

If you were able to find my website, you can do anything else.

Unless someone has a disability preventing them from achieving something they want; they can do it!

So what’s the difference between successful people and quitters?

Are successful people just lucky?

Are they blessed with some amazing talent that you don’t have?

NO.

What Successful People Know that Quitters Don’t

I am going to give you the secret my friend.

Are you ready?….

Successful people do what they NEED to do, when they NEED to do it, whether they feel like it or not.

That’s it.

There’s no magic formula.

There’s no amazing skill that you need to be born with.

All you need to do is figure out what it is you need to do to achieve what you want, and then DO THE WORK.

Let me say it one more time just so it sticks…

DO THE WORK!

All skills in business and life are LEARN-ABLE.

If you don’t know how to do something, all you need to do is learn how and get really good at it.

That’s what separates the successful people and quitters.

Successful people sit down and LEARN what they need to learn.

They do the work!

Quitters allow inertia to take over and don’t make themselves learn what they need to learn.

They let other things or people distract them.

They let laziness get the best of them.

Let me give you an example of how successful people think vs. how quitters think.

The goal: Start a website

Successful People:

“Wow, this sure is a lot of work and I really don’t feel like doing this right now. That’s OK though, I am going to push through and get this done if not I’ll never achieve what I want. Pain is only temporary anyways.”

Quitters:

“This is just way too much work and I have better things I can be doing. I’ll get back to it, besides I have other priorities and my friends are going out tonight. I’ve been working hard all week, I don’t have to do this work now, it can wait.”

You get the idea?

Quitters find a reason to put off the work for later.

As a result, they never actually do the work.

They always find an excuse to finish it at some other time.

Successful people know they just have to get it done.

They understand that in order to achieve a goal, they must sacrifice in other areas of their life, but only temporarily.

Once they achieve their goal, they can go back and enjoy anything that they gave up temporarily.

How You Become a Successful Person

You MUST learn to delay gratification.

If you don’t, you’ll always seek the instant reward and never make any progress.

The funny thing is that you know that by delaying gratification, you will receive something great in return.

Why don’t you do it?

Because you have trained yourself to receive instant gratification over something that will potentially bring you more joy and success.

“Discipline is just choosing between what you want now and what you want most.”  – Unknown

It’s really that simple.

Do the work and delay gratification.

Do you think their hasn’t been nights that I wanted to go out with friends instead of being home working on this blog?

Of course there has!

However, by pushing through I am putting together an amazing blog with great articles that is helping people get motivated and achieve things they didn’t believe possible.

What do you think is more rewarding to me?

A night out with friends or an email from a reader telling me how I inspired them to achieve something great?

Do what you need to do, when you need to do it, whether you FEEL like it or not!

Get started right now!

Sometimes it’s really hard to go on, small successes are importing to continue with the hustle, I found out that remembering your past successes helps a lot to go on.
