The first time I saw a professional boxer jumping rope, I couldn’t help but think: “What’s so great about it?”
As soon as I tried it, my question was answered.
Jumping rope is a cardio MONSTER!
Within your first seconds of jumping, you instantly gain respect for the rope.
Walking? Jogging? Running?
Yeah those are cool, but nothing comes close to jumping rope.
Below are 10 reasons why jumping rope is the BEST fat burning exercise.
1) Full body workout
After my first jump rope session, it felt like I did 10 different exercises.
My chest, back, arms, legs and abs were BURNING!
Jumping rope requires all of these muscles each time you jump and swing the rope around your body.
This allows you to burn fat and sculpt your body simultaneously.
You’ll notice how your body begins to look tone as you lose fat compared to traditional forms of cardio that give you that “skinny fat” look.
The skinny fat look is when you lose fat but still look flabby.
This happens when you exercise and cut calories, but don’t do any strength training.
Jumping rope prevents the skinny fat look.
But don’t take my word for it…try it and see for yourself.
2) Fast progress
Saying that jumping rope burns fat fast is an understatement.
You see noticeable changes in the mirror every week.
Your face begins to look leaner giving you a younger look, your waist begins to shrink, and clothes that use to fit tight will suddenly fit comfortably.
Obviously you also have to eat right to experience these results.
But trust me that nothing will torch fat off your body FASTER than jumping rope.
One of the things that makes it fantastic at burning fat is its after-burn effect.
Jumping rope keeps your heart rate up for HOURS after your workout.
This means that you’ll continue burning fat while resting and relaxing on the couch.
Not bad, huh?
3) Low impact
Jumping rope only requires you jumping a 1/2 inch off the ground.
This makes it a low impact exercise which prevents the risk of injury.
The less risk of injury, the more you can workout and the faster you’ll burn fat.
You can also get a heavy duty mat to make your jump rope sessions extra comfortable.
You’ll be sore from jumping rope, that’s for sure, but you won’t be injured.
My go to cardio in the past was jogging.
One of the issues I experienced was pain in my knees.
I’ve yet to experience any knee pain with jumping rope.
4) Can be done anywhere
Want to jump rope around people?
Go jump at a gym or park.
Want to jump rope in privacy?
Jump in your garage or backyard.
Want to do it at work, on vacation or in the middle of the night on your neighbors porch (not recommended)?
No problem, jump whenever or wherever you want!
All you need is a jump rope and The Rocky anthem, Eye of the tiger, playing in the background.
5) Fun
Jumping rope is a lot funner than traditional forms of cardio.
Everything from how slick you look in the mirror, to the sound of the rope every time it slaps the floor, to how FAST your body begins to change, makes jumping rope a lot of fun.
One of the things that makes cardio so boring is how LONG it takes to burn calories and get results.
I personally used to get extremely bored when I would go jogging.
Unless I took an intense pre-workout like Cellucor’s C4 and mixed it with an energized music playlist, jogging for 30 minutes was pure torture.
6) Burn more calories in less time
Just 10 minutes of jumping rope burns the same amount of calories as jogging for 30 minutes or walking for an hour.
That alone should be enough motivation for you to choose it over any other exercise.
All you need is 10-15 minutes daily and you’re done.
However, if you really want to see BLAZING FAST results, jump for a minimum of 20 minutes.
You do this by jumping 20 rounds x 1 minute, with a minute rest in between.
In other words, you’ll jump for a minute and then rest for a minute before the next round.
As your stamina improves, you can shorten the rest period in between rounds.
This brings me to my next point…
7) Stamina
Your stamina goes through the ROOF when you start jumping rope.
You’ll notice how much easier it becomes each week and how your able to jump longer without needing to rest.
It’s a great feeling when you can do the same amount of exercise you did a month ago without running out of breath.
As an added bonus, you’ll also notice major improvements in your sexual performance.
Not only will you last longer by not running out of breath, but due to an increase in blood flow that comes from jumping rope, you’ll experience stronger erections.
She’ll thank you.
8) Increase in focus
Jumping rope requires intense mental focus.
You need to perfectly time each jump so the rope doesn’t crash with your feet.
By constantly exercising your “focus muscle”, it continuously grows stronger.
Jumping rope helps you develop the right and left hemispheres of your brain which leads to better memory, awareness and alertness.
Other benefits include improved:
- cardiovascular health
- reflexes
- regulated breathing
I’m telling you, my friend, jumping rope really is the BEST cardio exercise you can do!
Can you imagine experiencing all these benefits along with extreme fat loss?
…It all starts with a jump rope.
9) Gets easier every workout
What’s great about jumping rope is how quickly you become better at it.
You might find yourself frustrated at first by constantly tripping on the rope, but I promise that with each workout, you’ll quickly get better at it.
Quick improvements motivate you to stick with something new.
What happens when you don’t quit?
You guarantee your fat-loss success.
10) Cheap
Jump ropes are extremely cost effective.
There’s no overpriced gym membership or exercise equipment required.
All you need is your jump rope, your sneakers and a good music playlist.
There are countless jump ropes available on the market.
Some are overpriced priced at $100, $50 and $20.
But TRUST ME that all you need is a jump rope like this one from Amazon that only costs you $10 to witness your body melt fat and transform in record time!
