5 Ridiculously Easy Diet Tips To Lose Weight and Keep it Off
While I’m not a diet expert, I know a thing or two on how to lose weight and keep it off.
At the end of the day, it’s all about calories.
However, most of time, the calories add up quickly and you feel like you’re deprived.
This is especially true when dieting.
Here are 5 simple techniques you can try that will help you lose weight and keep it off.
1) Skip breakfast
By now, you’ve heard about Intermittent Fasting.
If not, I’ll explain.
You eat all your daily food in a specific time.
Instead of 5-6 small meals; you eat all your food in an 8 hour window (ex: 11am-7pm).
You’re not eating less, just not as often.
You chose any 8 hour window that’s convenient.
The time doesn’t matter.
What matters is going 16 hours without eating. (8 hours of sleep included)
For this reason, I recommend skipping breakfast.
In reality, you don’t skip it.
You push it up a couple hours.
When intermittent fasting, your body has more time to use stored fat as energy.
This results in FAST and EASY fat-loss.
You must still eat at a calorie deficit.
If you eat more than you burn, you’ll gain weight regardless of what strategy you follow.
Multiply your ideal weight by 10.
If your goal is 150 lbs., you’ll eat 1500 calories. (150 x 10)
Eat those 1500 calories within the 8 hour window.
You’ll notice the fat melt off.
There’s countless books on intermittent fasting.
One of the most popular is The 8 Hour Diet.
Check it out to learn the science behind intermittent fasting.
But if all you care about is results, you know what to do.
I’m sure you’re wondering what you can eat or drink during fasting hours.
Water, black coffee, or zero calories beverages.
None of these kick your body out of “fasting mode”.
No food is allowed.
2) Eat small until dinner time
Your appetite follows you around all day.
And the reality is that no one enjoys a small 300 calorie meal.
This is especially true around dinner time.
Try this instead.
Let’s say you’re eating 1500 calories daily.
You skip skipping breakfast how we discussed in #1.
Once it’s time for your first meal, eat a 300 calorie meal.
Ex:
- 2 eggs – 140 calories
- Piece of toast with 1 tbsp. of butter – 150 calories
- Coffee (black) – 5 calories
That meal will keep you full for hours.
You’ll still have 1200 calories left.
Have another 300 calorie meal around 2pm or 3pm.
You’ll have 900 calories left over for dinner.
If you cook smart, that 900 calorie meal can be big, delicious, and satisfying.
I find that most people have a huge problem with their appetite at night.
They get hungry before bed.
By having a huge dinner you’ll prevent this issue while still losing weight.
An example of a 900 calorie meal:
- 2 chicken breast (8 oz. cooked with 0 calorie food spray) = 240 calories
- 1 cup of rice= 150 cal.
- 1 cup of broccoli = 50 cal.
- 2 oz. of avocado = 100 cal.
- 1 banana = 100 cal.
- 1 glass of wine = 100 cal.
Total: 890 calories
Do you think after eating a meal like that you’ll think or want food later?
Give this a shot.
I think you’ll be surprised at how great it works.
This simple technique makes it incredibly easy to lose weight and keep it off.
3) Sneak your cardio in
One of the easiest ways to do cardio is to sneak it in.
Park a little further from your office, take an extra lap around the grocery store, or go up and down the stairs a couple of times instead of just once.
Doing these things adds up.
You can cut your actual cardio (running on a treadmill) in half.
I recommend going somewhere that requires walking buts also entertaining.
These places include the mall, the beach, outdoors shops, etc.
Cardio gets boring really fast.
Get creative and sneak your cardio in.
Your ultimate goal is to move more often than you currently do.
In order to lose weight and keep it off, moving often will make it incredibly easy.
4) A glass of red wine
I got this idea from a friend.
He lost a ton of weight.
I was curious how he did it.
He ate less (of course) and had a glass of red wine every night.
“Red wine?” I asked.
He explained how it aids in weight-loss and curbs your appetite. (Especially at night)
He’s one of those people who enjoys eating late at night.
Wine prevents him from eating when it’s close to bedtime.
5) Coffee
When dieting, coffee’s your best friend.
It speeds up your metabolism, curbs appetite, and provides energy for longer workouts.
All of the above are great when losing weight.
Coffee works great when Intermittent fasting.
It prevents hunger until your first meal.
My favorite is Death Wish Coffee.
There you have it, my friend.
