I was never happy with how little I sweated during exercise.
I couldn’t understand how other guys would be drenched in sweat after a workout and I was dryer than a rock in the desert.
Was it just me?
Was I incapable of sweating?
Was it my genetics?
Who knows.
Regardless of the reason, I decided to do something about it.
Here are 5 things that took me from a desert rock to wetter than a fisherman caught in a bad storm.
1) Hydrate
Sure, I drank water throughout the day.
The problem?
I simply wasn’t drinking enough.
In fact, I was only drinking when thirsty.
BIG mistake.
As soon as I increased my water intake, I immediately noticed an increase in sweat production.
But, it still wasn’t the quantity I wanted.
At this point, I had gone from a desert rock to someone who accidentally gets caught by a water sprinkler.
In other words, my shirt was wet, but it was nothing worth bragging about.
And so, my “sweat more adventure” continued….
2) Protein
In order for your body to sweat it needs to get “hot”.
Protein is the macro-nutrient that requires the MOST energy during digestion.
Want proof?
Up your protein intake and watch how you begin to feel hotter than usual and begin sweating more.
Combine a high protein diet with intense cardio and your body will begin raining sweat!

3) Jump rope
Unless this is the first article you read on my blog, you already know how much I recommend jumping rope.
No other cardio will cook calories and burn fat FASTER than a jump rope.
Period.
Don’t take my word for it, try this instead.
Time yourself jumping rope for a minute vs. jogging for a minute.
You’ll notice how much FASTER your heart rate is jumping rope compared to jogging.
The higher your heart rate, the more calories you burn.
Forget an expensive gym membership and forget running around your neighborhood like a stray dog.

4) Sweat pants
I use to always wear shorts when working out.
I figured I’d get too hot with sweat pants.
However, after watching many YouTube videos on working out, I realized how popular sweat pants are.
But, it still wasn’t enough to convince me to go shopping for them.
It wasn’t until I went to a basketball game and noticed how the players were wearing pants during their warm-up routine.
Being a basketball fan my whole life, I’d obviously seen this before, but never thought anything of it.
…And then it clicked!
Wearing sweat pants will not only help my body get hot, but also STAY hot!
This would lead to faster and greater sweating.
I ordered 3 pairs of these sweatpants and haven’t looked back since.
A great side benefit of wearing sweat pants instead of shorts is how much more comfortable it is to workout with your phone.
I like to jump rope while listening to music.
I also use a tababta timer app so I can jump for one minute intervals and rest for 30 seconds.
When I use to wear shorts, my phone would swing around in my pocket all crazy.
I swear that it looked like I had a damn hamster in my pocket trying to escape.
However, due to the thickness of sweat pants, the phone stays in place and makes the workout much more comfortable.
