Why You Should Become an Entrepreneur
I’m not here to tell you what you should and shouldn’t do.
I’m here to tell you what I recommend you do if you want to live a happier, more fulfilling life.
As an entrepreneur, that’s exactly what you get.
What’s the most valuable thing in life that anyone can give you?
Is it gifts, love, or money?
NO.
The most valuable thing in life is TIME.
Gifts? They come and go.
Love? That comes and goes, unfortunately.
Money? You know that comes and goes.
However, time is something that just goes.
You can’t get back a moment you couldn’t be a part of.
If you didn’t make it to a wedding, a birthday, your kids school play, there’s no getting that back.
Sure, you can watch video of the event, but you and I both know that it doesn’t make up for you not physically being there.
TIME IS THE MOST VALUABLE ASSET YOU HAVE.
Write that on a post it note and place it on your computer screen.
Look at it often and reflect on it.
Every hour, minute, second that you’re at work is time that you can be doing something that you love.
…and yes, still earning money.
As harsh as it sounds, you are a slave to your job.
Without it, you can’t survive.
You have to be there when demanded.
Your personal life comes second.
If you are required to travel during your kid’s graduation, you will travel.
If you’re sister, aunt, or best friend is having a baby in Miami, but you need to be in New York for a conference, a picture message is the most you’ll be seeing of that precious new born.
Five For Two, Are You Kidding Me?
Ever felt underpaid at your job?
Well I’m about to make you feel worse.
Five days a week, you go and contribute to make someone else richer.
As a reward, they give you a paycheck for far less than you deserve and two days off.
Ok, wait a minute…
Get up five days a week, spend a lot of time in the office, do all this work for less pay than you deserve, and only get two days off for family, friends, chores, errands, groceries, etc.?
Doesn’t seem like a “fair” trade to me, does it to you?
It’s bad enough that you barely see friends or family when you aren’t working.
Between driving home, dinner, showering, and having to be in bed early to renew for the next day, how much time is leftover?
Is that how life is meant to be lived, five days at work and two of freedom?
Hell it could be even worse for some people.
Some people work 12 to 16 hour days and even have to put in time on the weekends.
As short as life is, you’re telling me that this is how I’m supposed to live it?
No thanks.
I’m going to be an entrepreneur.
Enjoy Life When I’m Dying?
Pretty harsh heading title, huh?
I know, but it’s to get my point across…
I hear the following all the time:
“Work hard, save money, put some of it away in your 401K, and when you retire, you’ll have a good amount leftover to “enjoy” life.“
Look, I don’t know about you but I don’t want to wait until 65 to start enjoying life.
Life should be enjoyed now that you’re young and full of energy.
When I’m 65, I want to be relaxing and thinking about the amazing moments in life.
All the traveling I did and all the time spent with friends and family.
I don’t want to be planning a trip worrying about my health conditions and flying.
You should be traveling in your 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s.
Your 60’s should be to “take it easy” and live a calm and relaxed lifestyle at your paid off home.
You should be doing BBQ’s every weekend by the pool with your friends and family.
A huge smile should light up your face every morning when you wake up.
You’ve lived life, you’ve traveled everywhere desired, and now you’re relaxing.
You have financial security and never have to worry about money again.
That’s living my friend…
Not working in an office for 40 years, barely traveling or spending time with friends and family.
“But Alex, my job is security for me and my family, it pays the bills and that’s what important.”
Really? Do you feel safe in your job? Are 100% confident that you’ll never be laid off?
Thousands of jobs get outsourced to other countries for less pay, don’t sit there and tell me that your job is safe and secured.
How Do I Become an Entrepreneur?
OK, I got your attention…
You want out!
You realize that this job of yours is a prison.
It’s stealing most of your time (life).
So how in the world are you supposed to become an entrepreneur if you barely even have time to spend with your friends or family?
First, sit down and ask yourself what’s something that you like and enjoy talking about.
It can be anything, a product or service that you can talk about and sell.
Next, either start a blog or an online store that talks about or offers the product or service.
It’s incredibly easy to start a blog and talk about a product that you use.
If people read your review and feel it’s a good product to try, you can provide them a link to buy it.
If they buy the product, you earn commission for your referral.
This is known as affiliate marketing.
People log into Google, search for a product, come across your blog or website, read how great the product is, and buy it.
Becoming an affiliate marker is so simple that a 6th grader can do it.
No, I’m not exaggerating.
You simply go to the company’s website, sign up to be an affiliate (it’s free), they provide you a link with a code that you place on your website, and every time that link is clicked and a product is purchased…
Guess what? You get commission!
Is this going to make you a millionaire over night?
NO.
Is this going to start earning you a little extra cash?
It all depends on how much time and focus you dedicate to it.
People love to read reviews and stories before buying a product.
They want to know how it helped you, if you would buy it again, and most importantly, a trusted place to buy it from.
YOU can provide them all of that.
Click here to see an example of a product review I did.
Warning: Don’t think that putting together a bunch of blogs and fake reviews will make you money.
If you’re going to promote something, make sure you actually USE it.
You might not think so but people can sense a fraud, even if it’s online.
If you promote some crappy product or service, sure you might make a few dollars in the beginning, but word will get around quick that you write fake reviews and promote low quality products or services.
In case you didn’t know, word gets around in the internet VERY quick.
If you’re known as a spammer and a fake, your personal credit will go downhill and ruin any potential success you could have.
Your personal credit is the most important thing online, don’t ruin it for a few quick bucks now.
Be authentic, provide people with real reviews on products or services that you actually use.
Besides a review on a product, you can also start an online store.
Company’s like EBay and Amazon make it incredibly easy to run an online store.
“OK Alex, but I don’t have a product to sell online…”
No problem my friend, there’s a solution for that too.
Websites like Alibaba.com sell products in bulk that you can resell online.
It’s very possible to buy $500 worth of product and turn it into $1000 ($500 profit).
Then take that profit and buy even more product and turn that $1000 into $2000.
Here’s the problem, most people will read this and NOT TAKE ACTION.
You’ll hear things like “that actually sounds like it’ll work”, but most people don’t apply what they learn!
How hard is it to sit down, open an EBay account, go to Alibaba.com, buy some product, and sell it?
NO EXCUSES!
Will this make you a millionaire overnight?
NO.
However, once you’re store becomes popular like it has for many others, you’ll start seeing some serious profit.
The most important thing is commitment, patience, and actually doing the work!
It might take a year or two to make enough profit to replace your current income.
It might take you a little longer.
Again, it all depends on how much time and effort you dedicate.
There are many stories online about people who started an online business part-time and eventually turned it into a full-time business allowing them to quit their job.
Keep this in mind, when you have your own online business, your earning potential is unlimited.
You can continue to increase your earnings with other online ventures.
How?
It all goes back to your most valuable asset: TIME
When you have all the time in the world, you can create more and more success for yourself.
Things like a review blog and an online store don’t require much attention after they are up and running.
A job requires you to physically be there daily and your earning potential is limited.
Your blog or online store is available 24/7 all across the world to millions and millions of people.
Life is meant to work a little, provide people with valuable information, products, or service, and spend the majority of your time actually living!
Here’s what I recommend you do..
Start small so you can actually prove to yourself that earning money online is REAL.
Start a blog and review a product so you can make affiliate sales.
Prove to yourself its possible.
You’ll be motivated to move onto bigger and more profitable online ventures.
Once you start earning more and more profit, save a lot and invest in bigger online ventures that provide you even bigger profits.
What do the rich buy?
They buy assets (things that make you money).
Earn your profits, reinvest, earn bigger profits.
Make smart decisions, show some discipline, watch your money grow.
Come join the entrepreneurs, we’ll free you from the human trap.
We’ll talk again soon,
Alex
