How to Skyrocket Your Productivity

How to Skyrocket Your Productivity

There’s just way too much distraction these days.

Phone calls, text messages, emails, and social media love our attention.

It’s amazing that you can get anything done.

All these constant interruptions become a habit and addicting.

Some people don’t go more than 5 minutes without checking their phones.

I learned an amazing productivity technique that I want to you to use and benefit from as well.

I present to you the 50-50-30 technique.

How It Works

You set a timer for 50 minutes to work on any project you choose.

During these 50 minutes, you eliminate any possible distractions.

No phone calls, no text, and no checking email.

At the end of 50 minutes, you allow yourself a 10 minute break.

Use these 10 minutes as you wish, but you MUST use the full 10 minutes and walk away from your project.

This allows you to disconnect and not become overwhelmed with your work.

If you work begins to feel overwhelming, you won’t put good effort into it.

It will lack in quality simply because you don’t feel like doing it.

During your 10 minute break, you can call someone, stretch, hear some music; it doesn’t matter.

I usually drink some water and go outside to get some air.

You do two 50 minute sessions with a 10 minute break.

After your second 50 minute session, you allow yourself a 30 minute break.

Use these 30 minutes to eat, nap, or even a quick workout.

After the break, you can begin another two 50 minute sessions.

Why it Works

The 50-50-30 works great because it puts your mind at ease and allows you to dedicate 100% focus.

Your mind knows you won’t lose track of time because in 50 minutes you’re timer will notify you to stop.

The world isn’t going to end in 50 minutes.

Your whole day won’t pass you by.

Your text messages and emails don’t delete themselves if you don’t check them for 50 minutes.

I get so much more work done ever since I incorporated this one easy technique.

Work that would usually take me days or even weeks to complete.

Sit down, set the timer, and watch yourself get WAY more work done.

Most phones these days have a timer or you can use one for free online.

If you prefer your own personal timer, here’s a good one you could use.

I got this great tip from the book “The Power of Full Engagement“ by Tony Schwartz.

This technique DRASTICALLY improved my productivity.

It works amazingly well, give it a try!
