Maybe it’s your height, accent, skin color, or some other physical characteristic.
Whatever it is…
You hate it!
You want to change it.
…but you can’t.
First, let me say this:
Everyone has something they wish they could change.
Even someone with more luxuries and advantages than others.
Having one thing they dislike about themselves can bother them forever.
If there’s something about you that’s impossible to change…accept it.
I have a friend of mine who doesn’t like his accent.
He fears people judge and perceive him differently.
This is a guy who is one of the smartest people I’ve ever met.
He has IMMENSE value to offer others.
I love talking to him because I ALWAYS learn something new.
However, even with all he has to offer, his accent still bothers him.
I’ve assured him that MANY business people have accents.
He’s about to release an amazing product.
I know he’ll become VERY successful.
However, I sometimes fear his concern might prevent him from achieving all the success possible.
Don’t let things you can’t change prevent you from achieving great things in life.
Your concern should be how much value you bring to others.
How you treat them and how much of a great person you are.
Everyone has something they don’t like about themselves, I guarantee it.
…But it’s a waste of time and energy to worry about it.
If something isn’t changeable, what’s the point of focusing on it?
Focusing on it won’t change it.
Complaining about it won’t change it.
Becoming mad or upset about it won’t change it.
Focus on things you do like about yourself.
The more things you like, the less others will bother you.
There’s probably a ton of great things about you that people will love and benefit from.
But if all you focus on is what you dislike, you’ll never give it to them.
If you can improve some area of your life that will make you a better person, do it.
If you can’t, move on to something else.
What would happen if you had an idea for an amazing product that could change the lives of people all across the world?
If you create the product, and it does help people, do you think people will be focusing on a limitation you have?
NO!
They’ll be grateful and admire you for helping them and adding value to their lives.
However, what would happen you never released the product because you feared people would judge your physical appearance or a physical limitation?
Nothing.
People’s lives wouldn’t be changed.
And you’ll spend your entire life focusing on what people wouldn’t like about you.
Do you see how valuable this is?
Don’t focus on things you can’t change!
