These days, people barely notice who’s standing next to them in public.
Thanks to the unlimited distractions a smart phone provides, no one “talks” anymore.
People will go to the supermarket and say four words total: Hi, thank you, and bye.
The cashier is the only one who gets attention and “noticed”.
The purpose of this article is not to convince you to say hi to EVERY person you see.
The purpose of this article is something a little deeper than that.
When you don’t focus on other people, you miss opportunities to help them.
You could be in line waiting to pay at the store and focused on your smart phone.
A little old lady behind you might need your help lifting a heavy item.
She might be so old, innocent, and shy that she won’t even consider “bothering” you for help.
The exact scenario happened to me the other day.
The cashier was scanning my items and I was focused on my emails.
She asked if I could assist the lady behind me.
When I turned around, it was the shyest and sweetest little old lady in the world.
She needed to lift a 24 pack of water bottles.
I joked with her and told her she should have screamed at me to help her.
Am I saying that you should be on the lookout 100% of the time when you’re out in public for someone you can help?
NO.
Instead, what I advise you do is make effort to help at least one person every day.
Pick someone who you don’t know and who can’t offer you anything in return.
It can be the smallest thing.
Helping someone load something in there car.
Holding the door open for someone and saying “Have a good day“.
Buying an extra water bottle at the store and handing it to someone and saying “This one is on the house”.
These random acts of kindness are VERY powerful.
Pay attention now because this is the most important part.
Whenever you help someone and they say “thank you”, tell them to “spread the love and do something nice for someone today”.
Of course, a lot of people probably won’t do it, but some will.
What does this do?
Well, if enough people start doing this, I believe it can slowly but surely begin to make the world a better place.
The world needs more positive vibes.
Maybe doing this won’t prevent bad things from happening all across the world.
…but at least it’ll make someone’s day, every day.
I got this idea from the video below I was a couple months ago.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJtWA2n2C6I
This will be rewarding to you on so many levels.
You’ll feel great for helping someone.
You’ll make there day.
And you’ll be responsible for making a small positive change in the world.

Very excellent article, Alex. Very deep as well! I think you handled that situation very well actually.
A large aspect of a business or even the main purpose is to be able to at least help one person each day. These small changes add up.
Agreed that this can help make the world better by those people helping others as they move forward. It is a huge way of giving back.
I was at the grocery store one time and this woman received some cash back from the machine. She was so busy assisting (possibly her mother) that she did not even notice.
I immediately gave it to her and she was thankful. It was only $5 so not a big deal, but it probably instilled some morality in this world.
Keep this site up man! This is a great community and all of the folks commenting and reading here are awesome. Everyone keep it up!

Jacob, thank you very much for sharing your story. It’s another perfect example of how we can begin instilling some morality back into the world. I’m sure the woman wasn’t as excited for getting her $5 back as she was for coming in contact with someone who was honest and willing to give it back to her. I honestly believe that these random acts of kindness can go on to affect a persons WHOLE day in a positive way. I have to tell you the same thing you told me, you handled the situation very well!
Great comment!

Alex,
Not a problem at all! I realize that we must all share our experiences in order for people to learn something from them. I agree with you, she was probably more joyful about morality still existing in today’s world. Thank you very much, looking forward to more content!
