Chipotle has quickly grown in popularity.
My opinion?
It’s delicious.
But now that I follow a keto diet lifestyle, can I still eat there?
Absolutely.
In this article, I’ll teach how to order the perfect keto meal at Chipotle so you can stay in ketosis and continue burning fat.
The perfect keto meal at Chipotle
The first thing you must do is ask for a salad bowl.
That means no rice or beans, just romaine lettuce.
Next you’ll need to choose your meat.
You have five options:
- steak
- chicken
- babacoa
- carnitas
- sofritas
You can combine any of these options or choose to have a double serving of one.
However, I recommend staying away from sofritas as it has 9 carbohydrates per serving.
So what’s the best option?
Steak.
Not only is it the tastiest, but it only has 1 gram of carbohydrates per serving.
For best results, order a salad bowl with double steak.
If you don’t like steak, pick chicken as your second option.
Last are the toppings.
Here’s where you have to be very careful.
Just one scoop of the wrong topping and you’ll quickly add 30 grams of carbohydrates to your meal.
The only toppings I recommend:
- cheese
- sour cream
- guacamole
These toppings are low in carbohydrates, but be careful with the guacamole.
Keep it to one serving because it contains 8 carbohydrates per serving.
On the other hand, sour cream and cheese how about 1-2 grams of carbohydrates per serving, so no need to worry.
Remember, you want to eat a maximum of 20 carbohydrates per day on the keto diet for best results.
So their you have it – that’s how you eat a keto meal at Chipotle.
Easy enough, right?
There are additional zero carbohydrate sauces at Chipotle that you can add to your meal, but I don’t recommend them.
My opinion is that they ruin the taste of this specific keto meal.
The combination of steak, cheese, sour cream and guacamole is delicious.
Why is this the best keto meal at Chipotle?
This meal amounts to a total of 51 grams of fat and 15 grams of carbohydrates.
A great keto meal is one that is high in fat and low in carbohydrates.
However, since you’re getting 15 carbohydrates with this meal, it’s important to eat extremely low-carb the rest of the day so that you stay at or below 20 grams.
I recommend eating eggs the rest of the day when you have a meal at Chipotle.
So let’s recap.
Here’s how you’re going to ask for your order next time you’re at Chipotle:
“Hi, let me have a salad bowl with double steak. For the toppings, I’ll have cheese, sour cream, and guacamole.”
Enjoy!
