Affirmations are a great way to program your mind with whatever it is you want.
When you constantly repeat something to yourself, your brain starts making neuro-connections with that idea.
The more you repeat it, the stronger the connection gets.
When you build a strong connection, your brain automatically starts to notice things it wouldn’t have before.
There’s a part in your brain called the Reticular Activating System (RAS).

Like mentioned in the video above, the RAS acts like a filter.
It only allows things in that it believes are important to you.
The RAS looks for what you focus on the most.
So lets say that you constantly repeat to yourself “I am good with people”…
The RAS will prove to you that you are by helping you notice things that make you believe you’re good with people.
Pretty cool, huh?
This is a great tool to use for your advantage to change or improve any part of your life.
So think of something that you want in your life.
Do you want to earn more money?
Do you want to be more confident?
Do you want to start eating healthier?
Whatever it is that you want, you must repeat it to yourself, in present tense, and often so that your RAS begins to present things to you that you currently don’t notice.
Here’s an example of how you should write your affirmation:
“I earn $5,000.00 a month.”
Make sure you are as specific as possible, but also use minimal words.
So it sounds pretty easy, right?
Basically you focus on and repeat what you want over and over until it’ll eventually becomes your reality.
Well yeah, it is that easy but there’s a problem…
Most of us will forget to repeat our affirmations throughout the day.
We just have way too much going on.
There’s too much distraction and interruption for us to remember, especially every hour.
So how do you ensure that you DO repeat your affirmations throughout the day?
Here’s an easy trick that I use:
Set up an alarm on your phone for every hour from the time you get up until the last hour before you go to bed.
Edit the alarm so that it displays your affirmation when it sounds.
This is a fail-proof way to guarantee you program the affirmation in your brain.
Sure, repeating affirmations only once a day will work.
However, repeating them every hour will yield much better and quicker results.
What I do is repeat the affirmation 5 times first thing in the morning and 5 times before going to bed.
Repeating your affirmation when you wake up, before bed, and throughout the day ensures that the affirmation gets buried deep in your mind.
Your RAS will soon pick up on all relevant information and begin to show you opportunities to bring it into your life.
This is one of the greatest discoveries I’ve ever came across in personal development.
I highly suggest you do it and watch how it goes on to affect your life in a positive way.
My phone allows me to set up as many alarms as I like.
If your phone doesn’t have the same option, you can always download a multiple alarm app.
If that’s not an option, get yourself a timer and set it for an hour.
Then you can simply repeat your affirmation every time it rings.
There’s no excuse, you can find a way to ensure that every hour you repeat the affirmation.
This works, trust me.
Do it!
Your friend,
Alex
