Life Begins at The End of Your Comfort Zone
The comfort zone is a dangerous place where most people spend their whole lives.
It feels easy, safe, and crazy to want to change it.
Your comfort zone keeps you from trying new things, taking risks, and allowing yourself to grow.
Taking action with something new requires you to leave your comfort zone.
As an example, when I started this blog, I was forced to be out of my comfort zone.
Instead of going out with friends, watching TV, or anything else; I had to sit down and work.
I had to force myself to sit down and write articles.
Now, I can’t go a day without working on my blog.
Isn’t that interesting?
Why You Should Step Outside Your Comfort Zone
If you want to grow as a person and achieve greater things that will bring you A LOT more happiness, then you have to step outside your comfort zone.
Anything worth having will require you to do something new.
If you want to earn more money, you’re going to have to educate yourself further in whatever field you work in.
As an example, when I started this blog, I had no idea how to go about it.
I didn’t know where to go buy a domain name, how to write articles and publish them, how to set up a whole website.
Learning all these things required me to get out my comfort zone.
…and boy am I glad I did.
This blog has become one of the best things that’s ever happened to me.
From positive comments and emails from people, to constantly learning new things, I have become a greater version of myself.
At the beginning, whenever you start something new, it’s going to feel different and weird.
You’re not use to it, it’s a new behavior, and you already have a daily routine.
So let’s say you wake up every day, go to work, go home, eat dinner, watch TV and go to bed…
But one day you decide that instead of watching TV, you’re going to practice how to play guitar.
You’re brain doesn’t recognize the new behavior, and it doesn’t like it.
You’re brain comes pre-wired from birth to prevent change, it’s a survival instinct.
However, the more you sit down and practice guitar, the more your brain recognizes the behavior and begins to actually enjoy it.
It’s really that simple.
The difference between people who achieve great things in life, and those who don’t, is their level of commitment.
Successful people are persistent and give their brain time to learn to enjoy a new behavior.
Others give up a few days after starting.
Your work ethic, commitment, and persistence will determine how successful you are in life.
You Don’t Have to Change, But is That What You Really Want?
So why should you even get out your comfort zone if you feel “happy”?
Well, the truth is that you might in fact be happy, but you can be a whole lot happier.
You can achieve great things, learn fun skills, meet great people, achieve things you never thought possible.
After all, is doing what you’re doing daily going to be as fun and fulfilling 10 years from now?
What if in 10 years from now you’ve learned how to dance, how to play guitar, how to cook, how to start an online business that rewards you with an additional income each month?
How much more fulfilling will your life be?
Getting outside of your comfort zone and trying/learning new things is a fail-proof way for you to get the best out of life.
I’ve made it a habit to learn something new every day.
That’s a minimum of 365 new things that I learn every year.
Whether I learn a new word, a fact about life, or someone’s name; I still learn and constantly exercise my brain on a daily basis.
The goal is to constantly challenge your brain and keep learning new things so it remains healthy.
Get out your comfort zone by engaging in something that you’ve always wanted to do,
What do you enjoy?
Do you enjoy watching people dance and wish you could dance like them?
Guess what?
You can!
…but sitting on the couch isn’t going to get you far.
I can’t physically come to your house and drag you out the door to get you to go to a dance class.
Well, actually I can, but I won’t.
YOU have to do it for yourself.
Life begins at the end of your comfort zone, nothing will ever change that.
Get out your comfort zone, learn something new, and I promise that you WON’T regret it.
