“I was going to start my own blog but haven’t had the time.”
No one cares.
“I was going to get in shape but have been so busy with other things in life.”
No one cares.
“I was going to begin getting up at 5 a.m. to start working on my online business but it’s so hard waking up earlier.”
No one cares.
“I’m going to start making money online soon, it’s just that I haven’t had time to work on it yet.”
No one cares.
“I know what to do to get the results I want, but can’t right now.”
No one cares.
“I’m tired of sitting at home with no girlfriend but I just haven’t met a good girl.”
No one cares.
Excuses, excuses, excuses…
You know why no one cares for them?
Because they are useless!
When you give someone an excuse, you add insult to injury.
You haven’t made anything better.
Instead, you’ve made a bad thing, worse!
The fact you didn’t accomplish something is bad news, and no one wants to hear about it.
…But when you bring up your excuse, it’s even worse.
Excuses offer no value whatsoever.
Have you ever met ANYONE who likes an excuse?
Has anyone ever appeared happy or expressed a smile on their face as you shared your excuse?
Do you like excuses from other people?
No, right?
…Then stop giving them!
Go get what you want and ONLY talk about it once you have it.
Don’t tell anyone about your goals and especially not about your mistakes and/or reasons for having yet accomplish something.
People who make excuses aren’t admired or respected.
They’re not known to accomplish great things in life.
[bctt tweet=”An excuse is an indirect way of requesting a plea for pity. “]”Please feel bad and comfort me while I complain about my weaknesses and mistakes”
Stop it!
Keep your excuses to yourself and go do what it takes to achieve whatever it is you want.
“I can’t get a girlfriend”
Boo hoo. Go and talk to 5 girls tomorrow.
…And another 5 the day after.
“I can’t make money online.”
You can’t?
Then why are people all over the world doing it?
Why are there people blogging and on YouTube making more money than lawyers and doctors?
Because they’re lucky?
Really?…
…Are they really lucky?…
…Or did they simply take action and keep going and going until they got what they wanted?
Does luck even exist?
Yeah, sure it does.
You want to know how to get luckier?
Work harder and more often.[bctt tweet=”You want to know how to get luckier? Work harder and more often.”]
Why do people throw away batteries that no longer work?
They’re useless.
Why do you throw out a paper towel after you’ve used it to clean up a mess?
It’s useless.
Do you know why you should NEVER make another excuse?
That’s right…it’s useless.
[bctt tweet=”Making excuses allows you to you feel better about your lack of accomplishments. Stop doing it!”]
You’re reading this right now instead of doing something unproductive.
Why?
Because you have that fire inside you to do better and achieve more.
You might just be lacking a little extra motivation.
…And it’s my job to keep you motivated…
But it’s your job to NEVER make another excuse.
Let’s work together and shake hands at the top of Success Mountain.
I look forward to seeing you.
Talk soon,
-Alex

Hi Alex,
I used to get called “The King of Excuses” by my girlfriend so I get what you’re saying.
At first I took it as a bit of a joke.
It was only when I stopped and thought about how weak I was being, how I was using those excuses as a convenient way to stay hopeless and lazy that I stopped and started taking action.
As you point out excuses are just another form of complaining or “poor me” mindset that won’t get you anywhere.
Great article, gave me a bit of a kick up the butt which I needed today!

Damn glad to hear that, Luke. Forget about who you were in the past, it has nothing to do with all the great things you’re going to achieve in the future. Just make sure you take action and never make another excuse.
