Have you wondered why most of the stories on the news are negative?
Why is it that they only focus on violence or grief?
Have you ever wondered if you should stop watching the news?
Is the media trying to program us to live in fear and constant worry?
Honestly, I am not sure.
I’ve read so many different takes on why the news is negative.
Some sources claim that its the government’s way of controlling us and keeping us scared.
These sources also have convincing reasons as to why the government would want that.
Other sources claim that its because negative news is higher in demand.
From an evolutionary perspective, we are more attracted to violence, blood, and gore.
Since these types of things are what helped our ancestor’s survive, we are wired to pay attention to them.
I often laugh to myself when I hear someone say how important it is to watch the news and that it’s the only way to know what’s going on in the world.
Let me ask you something, when something significant is going on, doesn’t everyone talk about it?
If there is something that you MUST know about, don’t you think you would find out about it?
Of course you will!
No one is going to talk about the 13 violent stories that they mention everyday on the news.
However, they will bring up important and relevant stories worth mentioning.
Again, if its significant and necessary, you will find out about it.
In my opinion, the only necessary information on the news is the weather.
Do I have to watch the news to know the weather forecast?
Of course not.
I can simply get a weekly forecast online by simply logging on whenever I want.
You should only be focused on becoming a better person, not on the news.
Am I saying that the news never has any valuable information?
Of course not.
However, for every 10 stories, 8 are negative.
This will only make you paranoid unconsciously as a person,
Sit down and ask yourself this: What was a story on the news this past year that if you did NOT hear about it, would have affected you in a negative way?
Remember this, there are 6 billion people in the world.
Of course negative things will happen sometimes, but it only happens to such a small percentage of the population.
The media makes it seem like its happening to almost everyone, all the time!
If you keep feeding your brain these negative stories, you will begin to see the world as a negative place where horrible things happen all the time!
Even if you read this article and chose to continue watching the news, at least cut back on it a bit.
Read and watch more positive content.
There are actually websites now dedicated to only providing you with positive news.
Below are a few of the many available:

The news being depressing as fuck was my first reason to stop watching them.
After I swallowed the Redpill I put my TV in the basement and only brought it back up when girls came over.
Haven’t watched the news in almost 4 years.
