Many so-called dumb people become millionaires every day.
These people might not be your exact definition of smart, but still manage to succeed financially.
Maybe it’s an 18 year old on Instagram with millions of followers, or someone with a YouTube channel who has millions of subscribers.
Maybe it’s someone you know personally.
Regardless of who it is, you strongly believe that you’re smarter than them.
You know that you can easily do what they do.
But why haven’t you?
Why is it that these “dumb millionaires” succeed and you don’t?
Here’s why…
1) Self-belief
Success is impossible without self-belief.
Unless you 100% believe you can do it, you won’t.
Period.
Dumb millionaires have unshakable self-belief.
As much as their told that something isn’t possible, they continue to believe it is.
The result?
They succeed and prove the doubters wrong.
2) Fearless
One of the top reasons why most people don’t take action towards their goals is fear.
What fear?
You might believe that dumb millionaires become successful by luck.
The reality?
They understand that failure is a part of success.
They expect and welcome it because they know it’s inevitable.
Instead of quitting after failing, they continue trying different ways to succeed.
This brings me to my next point…
3) Persistence
Dumb millionaires persist regardless of countless failures.
You must be dumb to continue trying something you keep failing at, right?
Wrong.
Here’s the reality…
Failure + Persistence = Practice
The more you practice, the more you learn and improve.
The more you learn and improve, the faster you make progress.
Perhaps you have to be “dumb” to understand this?
When I started this blog in 2014, I wrote a ton of articles.
However, regardless of how much I wrote, I wouldn’t get more visitors.
This blog would not grow.
But guess what?
I was dumb enough to keep writing.
Even when no one seemed to care…I wrote.
The more that my success seem unlikely, the more I wrote.
Today, I get thousands of visitors every month and earn thousands of dollars every year through affiliate marketing and my eBooks.
No matter how impossible or unlikely your success seems, be dumb enough to keep going.
4) Don’t care what others think
One of my favorite documentaries is Muse.
It’s a biography about former basketball all-start, Kobe Bryant.
In my favorite scene, Kobe shares how he had to create a persona that would only present itself during games.
His intention was to separate the issues he was dealing with in his personal life from the game of basketball.
He named the persona “The Black Mamba”.
Here’s my favorite quote from the scene:
Basically, no matter what people said or thought about Kobe would stop him.
Everything was invisible to him except the basketball court.
As far as he knew, he was the only one in the arena.
The result?
He TERRORIZED the NBA league during that era!
He was scary to watch.
Shot after shot, dunk after dunk, Kobe made opposing teams feel bullied and helpless.
He became one the most dominating players to ever play the game and won 5 NBA championships.
What would’ve happened if Kobe allowed what the media and people were saying to bother him?
Well, Kobe did allow it, but the Black Mamba didn’t.
Creating a different persona might sound weird or dumb to most people.
Well, Kobe laughed all the way to the bank because that incredible season led him to earn a lot more money from the NBA and endorsements.
Listen to me…
If you want to succeed at ANYTHING, no matter how big or small, you must say: “F*** everyone”.
You have to be “dumb enough” to put yourself first and not care what anyone has to say.
Read that last sentence again.
Make sure you add Muse to your list of documentaries to watch.
It’s a classic.
5) Stubborn
Dumb millionaires are incredibly stubborn.
What’s the normal thing to do when something fails once or twice?
Accept failure and move on, right?
Well, dumb millionaires are not “normal”, they’re dumb and stubborn.
Consequently, their stubbornness leads them to realizations on how to get whatever they want.
You must be dumb and stubborn enough to believe you can have it.
In one of the best books I’ve ever read, The Magic of Believing, the author explains how stubbornness and persistence allows your mind to find answers.
In other words, it puts your mind into overtime mode to seek ways to achieve your goals.
What’s the catch?
You must first STRONGLY desire and believe you can have it.
If you just kind of believe you can have and deserve it, your mind won’t take you seriously.
Become obsessed with the idea that it will be yours no matter what.
Again, even if you must lie to yourself initially, maintain 100% faith that it’s coming to you.
…And trust me that it will.
I highly recommend reading The Magic of Believing and also listening to the free audio version on YouTube.
Read or listen to it daily for 90 days so that the information gets buried deep in your mind.
You’ll thank me.
6) Focused
This is a BIG one!
Dumb millionaires ignore everything and ONLY focus on their goal.
Laser-like focus guarantees progress, where mediocre focus guarantees mediocre results.
Makes sense?
Be dumb enough to say “NO” to hanging out with friends and having fun instead of staying focused on your goals.
Be dumb enough to make your goals your TOP priority.
Let me ask you a question:
What’s going to bring you more success, peace and happiness 5 years from today?
1) Hanging out with friends and having fun
2) Achieving financial goals you didn’t think were possible.
Easy answer.
7) Lack of distraction
There are countless distractions these days.
Text messages, social media and emails are among the top reasons why productivity decreases for most people.
To do your best work, you must eliminate all distractions.
Dumb millionaires put their phone on silent and eliminate any other distractions that could interrupt their focus and progress.
They’re dumb enough to not be available within 5 seconds that someone contacts them.
8) Listen to their gut
In the book The Secret, you learn how important it is to immediately take action when you get an inspired idea.
When you’re laser focused on a goal, ideas begin rushing into your mind.
Many people ignore these ideas, but dumb millionaires take action IMMEDIATELY!
You must act on inspired ideas because they’re usually answers that your mind formulates to achieve your goal.
In this article, I talk about an inspired idea that began making me more money as soon as I implemented it.
Can you imagine if I would’ve ignored the idea?
9) Ignore ridicule
Most people care what others think.
We all come pre-wired with a need to be accepted by our social group.
You see, back in the day, if you weren’t accepted by your social group, your chances of survival were unlikely.
Even though it’s no longer “back in the day”, the wiring is still part of us.
Dumb millionaires ignore their desire to be accepted.
They have thick skin and handle ridicule very well.
How likely is someone who cares what others think to persist with their goals if 3 people tell them:
“Hey, you’re an idiot for starting a YouTube channel. You’re not going to make any money doing that”.
The “smart person” quits immediately so that they remain cool and accepted.
The dumb person persists and makes millions.
I’m not making this up, you know it’s the reality.
There are a TON of bloggers and YouTubers who are millionaires and make it seem effortless.
All they do is create content.
If you allow ridicule from others to affect your progress, don’t even attempt a new goal.
Why?
Because you’re setting yourself up for failure.
10) Lack self-limiting beliefs
Most people believe that they can earn a little more money than they currently do.
Dumb millionaires believe that they can earn a TON of more money and shoot for the sky.
If you put a limit on your earning potential, you will NEVER make a lot of money.
You must eliminate any self-limiting beliefs you have about money.
They say that you earn on average what the 5 closes people to you earn.
Why?
Because you inherit their self-beliefs, thoughts and feelings about money.
If the 5 closes people to you believe that earning a lot of money is difficult, so will you.
The BEST thing you can do is surround yourself with people who at minimum earn DOUBLE what you currently earn.
This will light a fire under your ass to begin working towards earning more money so you can “catch up”.
If you’re earning 50k per year, find five people who earn a minimum of 100k.
Financial success is a mindset, not a skill.
Skills are shit.
You can learn and develop any skill through practice and repetition.
If you can read this article, you can learn any skill you want.
However, your mindset is EVERYTHING!
If you have the right financial mindset, you’re guaranteed to increase your income.
Trust me.
Are dumb millionaires really dumb?
I guess that topic is up for debate.
My opinion?
They’re geniuses because they’ve figured out a way to block out all the BS that keeps most people from succeeding financially.
One way or another, they find a way to earn MASSIVE amounts of money while many “smart people” bitch, moan and complain about their 9-5 jobs.
Because of everything you read in this article, dumb millionaires earn enough money to secure the health and future of their family.
If you must be dumb to achieve the above…count me in.
