Are You Living Life or Just Distracting Yourself?
It’s Monday…
And depending on you, that might be GOOD or BAD news.
My question is – How did you wake up this morning?
Were you excited to start your day?
…Or did you hit the snooze button and lay in bed as long as possible before risking getting late to work?
The reality is that many people are NOT happy it’s Monday.
They know they’ll endure the same routine they usually do every week.
They’ll work a job they hate and then go home and distract themselves with social media, video games, or TV.
Then lay in bed at night dreading tomorrow, knowing they’ll have to get up and do it all over again.
Day after day, hour after hour, minute after minute; life slips away from them.
The best part of their day is after work when they get to distract themselves.
This helps keep them sane.
It helps them forget about reality…even if its just temporarily.
But it’s this same escape that prevents them from living life.
You see, a temporary escape is just that…temporary.
You should look forward to getting up every morning.
Not despise it and use a distraction to help you get by.
Sure, you’ll always have bad days here and there.
…But you shouldn’t be seeking a DAILY escape.
And if you are, it’s time you do something about it.
When you do what you love, even if it requires hard work at times, you don’t fantasize about an escape.
You literally enjoy the work no matter how much of it you have.
You begin realizing how being away from it for too long begins to drive you crazy.
Watch TV?
Check Facebook?
Play video games?
You won’t have time for that.
…Nor will you want to make time for it when you’re doing what you love.
But when you’re lacking passion in life and need an escape, you settle for those type of things.
I call these things “artificial happiness”.
I put in a lot of time into this blog.
Just writing the articles takes me MANY hours.
Why?
Because I strive to make each of them beyond GREAT.
I proofread them, delete sentences that aren’t necessary, and think hard before I hit the “publish button.”
I like to ensure I didn’t forget to mention anything.
…And that the article is the BEST I can make it.
But you know what?
Every single second of work, I enjoy.
When I sit down to write an article or do any other work for Inertia Will hurt Ya...nothing else matters.
I have laser focus and everything else becomes background.
The clock moves, my fingers move, but my focus is stationary.
And you know why?
…Because I love what I do.
Writing might not be what you love.
You might sit down to write and hate every second of it.
But the question is, what is it that YOU love?
…And why are you not doing it?
Why are you settling for distraction over passion?
Why are you not getting up earlier every morning and working part-time on your passion?
This is your life, and it’s ending one second at a time.
You weren’t born to distract yourself with artificial happiness (TV, Social Media, etc.)
You were born to make a living off your passion and to enjoy every single day you walk this earth.
Is your passion playing basketball?
Great!
Create a blog and share your knowledge with others.
Maybe you can show them defensive tricks or a strategy you practice to improve their shooting percentage.
Then you can create a product to offer for sale that will help your readers even more.
Is your passion cooking?
Great!
Record yourself cooking or baking something and start a YouTube channel.
Then create an Ebook and title it “33 Quick and Easy Recipe’s You’ll Love” to offer for sale and include a link for it in the description area under your video.
Are you following me here?…
You can turn ANY passion into profit.
You simply show others what YOU know.
What’s my passion?
Learning things that get me results and showing other people how to do it.
Helping others rise up to success with me.
That, my friend, keeps me going.
It makes it EASY to put in many hours into this blog.
Easy to stay in on Friday night and WORK,WORK, WORK!
Take a look at the abundance of articles I have to offer my readers.
They all aim to motivate or help in some way.
One of my most poplar articles is “3 Secret Steps I Follow to Make Money from Niche Websites.“
The information in that article is so good that many people have asked why I didn’t offer it as an Ebook instead so that I could make money from it.
But what people don’t understand is that article does make me money.
How?
By the affiliate links included inside and by gaining your trust.
I gain your trust because when you apply what I teach you, you get results.
Results = Trust
And when you trust me, you’ll buy books I recommend (affiliate links) or create myself.
If you do what you love and show people how to do it, the money will come.
What motivates me?
People who get results from my advice.
…When someone tells me “Alex, thank you!!!…I started my own niche website because of you.”
And let me just say this…
If you’re not motivated to do something without earning money at the beginning, then that isn’t your passion.
Do you think I was earning ANY money when learning how to make a niche website profitable?
NO.
Do you think I started earning ANY money when I started applying different things I was learning?
NO.
But as soon as I cracked the code, got results, and showed others what I did and how I did it; that’s when things starting taking off for me.
And that’s ALL you have to do with your passion – Show other’s how to do it.
When you start working on something you enjoy, you become a different person.
Suddenly, getting up everyday isn’t as bad.
You look forward to that little time you spend working on your craft.
You think about it all day long.
You no longer need to distract yourself when you have free time.
And once you grow your passion to the point you’re making a living of it, then you begin living life.
…But nothing will change until you start.
If you create value out of what you know and love, you’ll be on the road to success in a vehicle without brakes.
In other words, arriving at success will be inevitable.
There will be no stopping you.
However, if you just get up every single day, go to work, come home, check Facebook, watch your favorite TV show, and so on…
You’ll be distracting yourself FOREVER.
And we both know YOU deserve more than that.
So you have two options:
1) Begin working on your passion part-time so you can eventually start living life.
2) Continue doing what you’re doing and keep distracting yourself.
Choose wisely.
We’ll talk again soon,
-Alex

The Rational Rebel says
Well said, my friend. Distraction is the arch enemy of action. It’s not disadvantage, it’s not bad luck, it’s not lack of money, lack of support or lack of anything external. It’s you and your decision to distract yourself, rather than act.
There are just no excuses.

Alex (Administrator) says
“There are just no excuses”.
Exactly. I can’t begin to tell you how many people who started the “blogging journey” with me, have quit. Nothing will come overnight. But faith, persistance, and discipline will bring you anything you desire. People start things, don’t get instant results, quit, and go back to distracting themeselves. It’s my job to stop this behavior for as many people as possible!
