Most people start a blog with the intention of making money.
Fine.
However, if that’s your only goal, chances are you’ll lack patience.
You’ll expect to make money within the first month.
Guess what?
You won’t.
At best, you might make a couple of dollars.
However, to make thousands of dollars per year, it’ll take you much longer.
It personally took me 2 years to begin making decent money, and 4 years to begin making respectable money.
I say this because I don’t like wasting anyone’s time or creating false expectations.
If you’re willing to be patient and do the work, the money will come.
So the next question is, what do you write about?
What topics to write about
If you’re thinking what topics to write about, you’re already on the wrong path.
Like I mentioned in the title, a blog is a personal journal.
All you need to do is document your experiences, thoughts, and ideas.
That’s it.
Unlike a physical journal, your online journal is available to anyone in the world and can be accessed whenever.
People find your online journal blog, read what you have to say, and if it helps them, they become a fan.
A fan inevitably becomes a customer.
A customer makes you money.
Are you following me?
Your only job is to write, write, write!
Make sure every article teaches something.
Whether it’s a life lesson or how to make money online, make sure that it educates the reader is some way.
If you were paying close attention, you noticed how I included a link in that last sentence.
That link takes you directly to a sales page for my eBook on making money on the internet.
Just about every article of mine has a link to one of my eBooks.
Are you beginning to see how an online journal can make you money?
All you do is create content that helps people.
Then create and sell products that also help people and include a link to those products in your articles.
What happens next is that someone goes into Google and searches for something they need an answer to.
If one of your articles has the answer, they’ll find your blog, read the article, possibly click your product link, and buy your eBook
Makes sense?
There are no secrets to making money with a blog.
Sure, there are certain things you can do to increases your sales which I teach you inside my book below.
But for the most part, it’s all about creating as much content as possible and linking to your products within that content.
It’s what I’ve been doing for 4 years, my friend.
And it’s what I’ll continue to do because it’s obvious that blogging will never stop being lucrative.
The more I write, the more traffic I get, and the more money I make.
While many people enjoy watching videos on YouTube, others prefer to read content so they can digest the material at their own pace.
End of story.
There are no tricks, gimmicks or shortcuts.
There’s only writing, patience and making money.
Period.

Do you still recommend creating niche sites or have you focused on building your brand on this site?
Alexander Writer says
Niche sites will always work as long as you find a low competition keyword. If you create a niche site around “weight loss”, your chances of succeeding will be unlikely since there are literally millions of search results for that keyword. There are many keywords that get thousands of searches every month and return very little results in Google when people search for them. Your homework is to find those keywords, master the topic by learning everything you can about it, and start writing articles. A niche site with 10-20 good articles will undeniably make money.

Thanks. Of course, you’re kind of doing that with this blog as every post feels like niche, except your housing everything on one site which makes sense.
You can delete one of my first two comments. I thought the first one didn’t go through.
