How Long Does it Really Take to Make Money From a Blog
Every single day, many people all over the world go into Google and search the keywords how long does it really take to earn money from a blog.
It’s the famous million dollar question.
I myself asked it when I was just starting out online.
Surprisingly, the answer is a simple and short one.
Time.
What do I mean by time?
The more time you put in, the FASTER your results will come.
I started seeing MASSIVE progress on this blog as soon as I started putting in a lot of time daily.
People automatically assume that there’s some special talent or skill that you need to develop in order to start seeing the profits roll into your bank account.
Nope.
There are no secrets.
There are no ways to get there quicker.
Do what needs to be done and the success will come.
End of story.
Unstoppable work ethic
If you think that writing one day per week is going to bring you success, you’re wrong, my friend.
In order to earn money from a blog, you need to treat it like an actual business.
That means instead of spending hours watching TV, you should either be writing content, doing research, or networking with other bloggers.
All of the options I just mentioned are incredibly easy to do, especially in this day and age.
You can write content from anywhere.
Whether it’s at home, on a bus, a train, or waiting in line at the store.
Whether it’s on your computer or mobile device.
There are no excuses as to why you can’t be working when you have free time.
I’m always working.
If an idea suddenly comes to mind, I stop what I’m doing and make a note of it on my phone.
In order to see your blog’s success SKY-ROCKET as quickly as possible, you need to develop a strong work ethic.
Again, you must put in the time DAILY.
You don’t need to go about it like a crazy person who doesn’t sleep.
But dedicate as much time as possible to really get the ball rolling.
You’ll notice that after a couple of articles, you’ll develop an obsession to add endless content to your blog.
The high you get each time you hit the ‘publish button’ is incredibly satisfying.
And you’re going crave that experience over and over.
Education doesn’t stop
Whatever topic you choose to write about, there’s always going to be new content you can create and offer readers.
The biggest issue I keep seeing pop up for people is their limited mindset.
They believe that because there are already other articles on the internet related to the idea they wanted to write about, it would be pointless to write about it.
Let me ask you something, is dish washing liquid ONLY available in ONE store?
Of course not.
Whoever sells you a bottle is the person who presented it to you at the right time.
If I come to your website and find an article on how to perform perfect push-ups, does it mean that I won’t read it because I know there are a million other websites that can teach me how?
NO.
I landed and found your website FIRST.
Therefore, I’m going to read your content and apply what YOU teach me.
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with re-writing information in your own words.
As long as you don’t plagiarize and always do things ethically, you can fill up your blog with a lot of content that will help your readers.
“Why would I start a blog on ‘how to build muscle’ when there are a million other websites already doing so?”
…Why not?
Always keep learning and writing.
The more content you create, the more answers you’ll have for people.
Read that last sentence again.
Sell, sell, sell
If the thought of selling scares you, you’re in the wrong business.
Hear me good when I say this…People like to buy.
I first heard that in a business seminar and it immediately opened my eyes as to how true it was.
People love to trade their money for things of value.
At the end of the day, money is just paper.
It doesn’t have any intrinsic value.
It’s not like gold which you can melt and use for multiple things.
People want to get rid of their paper (money) for things they can actually use.
And if you create a ton of value (free content) that helps them, they’ll be more than willing to give it to you.
Take a look at my blog for example.
There’s close to 50 articles in my Blogging & Money section.
How likely do you think people are to buy my eBook How To Make $100 Every Day On The Internet if they read my articles and begin making money?
I can’t stress how easy and effective this business model is.
Create a ton of FREE content and then offer an eBook for sale.
It’s worked for me and a TON of other people online.
…But if that’s the case, then why doesn’t everyone do it?
There’s a million answers to that question, but the most common is lack of action.
If you want to see serious profits, you need to create your own eBook and sell it to your audience.
Releasing your eBook and selling at a high price
A mistake many people make is delaying the release of their eBook.
While some people will not buy from you until you provide them a lot of great content; some will buy from you the first time they come to your website.
All customers are different.
They all make their buying decisions for different reasons.
Just know that you could be missing out on a lot of profit by delaying the release of your eBook.
Also, don’t be scared of selling it at a high price.
If you took your time to write it and you know in your heart that anyone who reads it will get the results you promise; sell it for what it’s worth.
My eBook shows you how to earn $100 per day online.
I guarantee anyone who reads it will earn that much if they simply apply what I teach.
I sell it for $20.
Anyone who buys it and takes immediate action will earn back the money they paid in no time.
I could sell it for $10, but that would be injustice to me for the amount of value I JAM-PACKED inside.
I’m providing people knowledge that shows them how to earn money online every day.
If I really wanted to, I could easily sell it at a WAY higher price.
Now let’s take a look at my current status.
I have a ton of content on this blog and receive plenty of traffic daily.
If I sell just five eBooks per day (an incredibly low and easy number to hit) I make $100.
And that’s only off Mr. $100.
That’s not including sales of my other eBooks.
Why am I telling you this?
Is it to brag?
No.
I get nothing from bragging and could care less what you think of me.
What I care about is motivating you to take action and getting the same results.
It means NOTHING to me if you think that I’m smart and good at making money.
What’s important is that you email me saying:
“Wow, Alex, your information really helped me and now I’m making money. Thanks!”
I promise you that earning money from a blog is very easy and real.
Write the content, create the eBooks, and succeed.
That’s all there is to it.
When can you expect to earn your first dollars?
You can make a few dollars the very FIRST day you start blogging.
All it takes is writing a good article with a catchy title, including an affiliate link, and then sharing that article on social media.
Anyone who reads it, clicks the link, and buys the product will put money into your pocket.
However, let’s pause for a moment because that was a lot of information in only 3 sentences.
Writing an article and including an affiliate link has to be one of the EASIEST things in the word.
But…
How many people will do it?
The reality is that far LESS people will take action than those who will.
For someone to read this article, start their own website, write a post, include an affiliate link, and share it on social media is rare.
But those who do it will be shocked at how taking just a little action can lead to lucrative rewards.
Will you be one of the few who takes action?
Don’t quit
I don’t know who created the idea or fantasy of earning money the same day you start blogging.
While it’s possible to earn money with some basic techniques, you won’t be earning thousands of dollars on day one.
However, stick with it long enough and you’ll soon find yourself making far more money than most people.
Many bloggers make more money than actors, singers, athletes, and other famous people.
How do they get to that level?
The same way anyone everyone else does.
They work for it and don’t quit.
I’ve been blogging since October 2014.
I made the commitment of sticking with it for 5 years to allow myself the opportunity to reach my financial goal.
I’m a year and five months in and I can guarantee that with the progress I’ve made and the amount of time I dedicate on a daily basis, I’ll reach my financial goal easily and way before the 5 year mark.
But don’t get it misunderstood.
I didn’t see a single penny at the beginning.
I didn’t see any growth in traffic.
For a long time, it was the same thing every day.
I wrote and wrote and wrote and wrote and nothing changed.
It got to the point that I couldn’t help but feel demotivated.
But I stuck with it.
And then one day out of nowhere, my traffic began taking off.
Before I knew it, I created eBooks and my affiliate sales began coming in.
What would’ve happened if I’d quit when the doubts began to enter my mind?
I wouldn’t have the success I enjoy now and you wouldn’t be reading this article.
Whatever you do, don’t ever stop working.
Even if it feels meaningless or as if nothing is changing, just keep going!
Keep writing content, keep learning, and keep having faith.
Your success will come.
Trust me.
How big should I grow my blog?
As I mentioned earlier, there’s always new information to learn and write about.
Just when you think you know it all, something new will pop out at you.
So when do you stop adding new content to your blog?
NEVER!
You should never stop adding content.
However, once you’re earning passive money, you can cut back on the amount of content you publish.
At the beginning, you should be adding content like crazy.
But be careful and don’t write a bunch of worthless articles that don’t teach anything.
While you’ll want to focus on quantity at the beginning just to get the ball rolling, you’ll also want to keep an eye on quality.
Write as many 500-1000 word articles as you can and publish, publish, publish.
Once you’ve got a good amount of content and you begin seeing your traffic increase, begin putting together longer articles that range 2000-3000 words.
Yes, I know it sounds like an awful lot of words, but trust me when I tell you that writing an article of that size gets incredibly easy the more you sit down and write.
In order for your website to be perceived as worthy by search engines, it has to be content heavy with long and informative articles.
However, having a ton of 500-1000 word articles won’t hurt you.
On the contrary, it’ll just make your website bigger.
But do NOT skip writing the long articles.
If you create the content, and it’s of quality, it will show up on Google and people will find your website.
But if you just sit there and doubt yourself, or don’t take any action, what do you expect to happen?
How does that famous saying go…
If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always gotten.
Put in the time.
Create a content heavy blog.
And stop asking how long does it really take to make money from a blog.
The only person who has the answer to that question is YOU.
Don’t waste any time.
Things can look very different for you financial wise a year from today.
Get to work!

-Alex

What was your strategy for coming up with your domain name and for blogs in general. I don’t want to copy someone else’s idea by making a domain name similar to theirs.
Al says
I am currently in the process of buying a new domain. Should I get the “domain privacy protection” plan? I don’t remember if I got it the first time.
Alex (Administrator) says
Just make it relevant to your blog’s topic. This blog’s goal is to educate and motivate people. However, motivation and education are meaningless if you don’t take action.
Inertia is the force that prevents people from taking action. Unless you push through inertia, it’ll hurt your success. That’s how I came up with Inertia Will Hurt Ya. It’s different, memorable, relevant, and intriguing. Those are 4 important pieces of the puzzle when trying to come up with a domain name.
Alex (Administrator) says
Yes, always choose the private plan to keep your personal information private. I go over this in the bonus book (Mr. Website Builder) you received with you purchased Mr. $100. Confirm with me that you have the bonus book, if not I’ll resend it to you.
Al says
Yeah the book came in the package but I’ve only read Mr. $100 so far.
Al says
Since I already have a website and hosting, I’m trying to add my new domain to the plan but am having difficulties with host gator accepting my username and password.
Alex (Administrator) says
Do you have the baby plan or the hatchling plan?
The baby plan allows you to add as many domains as you want. Hostgator also has the chat option where they can help you with any technical difficulties you may experience. Sometimes there are things that they can only fix on their end.
Al says
Baby plan. I started a chat with them a little while ago, their busy. I’ll get it straightened out.
I decided to start a blog similar to yours and Bold and Determined: a blog to help others via motivation and education, with my own spin on it of course.
I decided on a domain that really sticks out and did not want it to get snatched up by someone else.
